New initiative to help nature across the Gatwick Diamond

New initiative to help nature across the Gatwick Diamond

The Gatwick Diamond is home to an abundance of nature, including some of the rarest natural habitats in the world.  But with one in six UK species at risk of extinction, locally coordinated efforts are needed to reverse the decline.

Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS) are a new government initiative being rolled-out across England to help.  While one strategy covers Surrey, Sussex has two strategies – one covering West Sussex and another for East Sussex and Brighton & Hove.

At the heart of every LNRS will be environmental issues that are most important to local people.  Anyone living or working in Surrey or Sussex can have their say by taking residents’ survey for their region.
