Brighton & Hove’s iconic Volk’s Electric Railway, the world’s oldest operating electric railway and a pioneer in sustainable transportation, has clinched a victory at the esteemed Heritage Railway Association’s annual awards.
In a field boasting over 200 heritage railways across the UK, the Volk’s Electric Railway claimed the winning position in the prestigious ‘Railway of the Year’ award category, the Heritage Railway Association’s premier national accolade.
