The Chairman of the Gatwick Diamond Initiative has predicted a new era of collaborative action in the region. Brett North’s prediction comes as the Gatwick Diamond region is set to showcase its investment potential at UKREiiF 2024, marking its first-ever delegation to the UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum.
The Gatwick Diamond Initiative, in collaboration with local and regional authorities and private sector affiliates, will participate in UKREiiF 2024 in Leeds from 21-23 May 2024. The event aims to attract over 10,000 investors, developers, occupiers, and local authorities, promoting the region’s business opportunities.
The coalition includes county councils, local authorities, and private sector affiliates from Sussex, Surrey, Kent, and South London, with participants like Crawley and Develop Croydon. Its mission is to support emerging and established businesses and enhance Gatwick Diamond’s reputation as a premier location for business, life, and investment.
Brett North, Chairman and Chief Executive of the Gatwick Diamond Initiative, said: “I hope this will be the catalyst for a new future for the Gatwick Diamond, where public and private sector organisations collaborate even more closely.
“We’ll have time to spend time with each other and other potential partners from throughout the world. Real estate and infrastructure play a critical role in regional development. That’s why we’re seizing this opportunity at UKREiiF to highlight our region’s unique selling points and its rich investment potential.
“We have so much to be proud of here in the Gatwick Diamond, and we are committed to meeting and partnering with like-minded organisations worldwide. When we work together, I believe we can create an impressive legacy of sustainable growth for the region.”
The Invest Gatwick Diamond group has secured exhibition space at UKREiiF, providing a platform to engage with the event’s attendees. London Gatwick, a key supporter of the delegation, underlines the airport’s significant economic impact, supporting 76,560 jobs and generating approximately £5.5 billion in GVA in 2023.
Brett North adds: “As the region’s economic anchor, London Gatwick is the perfect partner and advocate for a thriving and resilient local economy. It is important that we promote the region to drive inward investment and position it as an attractive place to live, work and invest. So, we’re looking forward to doing just that in partnership with the local authorities and major stakeholders in the Gatwick Diamond region at UKREiiF in May and beyond.”
The Gatwick Diamond’s participation at UKREiiF 2024 aims to strengthen the region’s economic prospects, inviting collaboration and investment from global stakeholders. The initiative seeks to boost local and regional development, reinforcing the Gatwick Diamond as a hub of economic activity and innovation.
