Views welcomed on concept ideas for Bookham and Dorking town centre plans

Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) has commissioned a team led by AR Urbanism (ARU) – a specialist urban agency – to undertake two masterplanning studies: one for Great and Little Bookham and one for Dorking Town Centre. The studies are funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund and must be completed by the end of March 2025 to meet funding requirements.

The ARU team undertook baseline analysis and targeted stakeholder engagement in spring/summer 2024 as part of the initial stages of the studies. They have used this information to develop a range of draft concept ideas specific to Bookham and Dorking. A wider public consultation on these ideas will commence on Thursday 24 October – including two drop-in exhibitions on the very first day of the consultation in both locations – and extend over a six-week period, closing on Thursday 5 December 2024.

Residents, businesses, community groups, and visitors will have the opportunity to review the draft ideas, share their thoughts, and provide feedback.
