There’s still time for Gatwick Diamond organisations to join forces to boost regional inward investment

It’s not too late for local businesses and authorities to join forces in a regional delegation focused on boosting inward investment into the region.

That’s the message from Invest Gatwick Diamond which is inviting local companies and individuals to join its delegation at the UK’s Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), taking place in Leeds from 21-23 May 2024.

With local authorities including Croydon, Crawley, Reigate and Banstead along with property experts SHW already confirmed, the event will offer a prime opportunity to network with the region, form connections and learn from other regions.

The 3-day event, supported by major UK property and infrastructure companies, will host over 10,000 attendees, including over 250 local authorities and feature 2,500 fringe events, 700 speakers and 150 exhibitors.

The Invest Gatwick regional stand is being led by the Gatwick Diamond Initiative and a wider delegation consisting of representatives from councils, local authorities and private sector partners from across Sussex, Surrey, Kent and South London.

Brett North, Chairman and Chief Executive of the Gatwick Diamond Initiative, highlighted the importance of showcasing the region’s potential at UKREiiF: “We’ve had a great response so far. But we have some time and space to include other interested parties too. I’d urge anyone interested in discovering more about getting involved to get in touch.

“It’s the first time we have collaborated with UKREiiF to create a Gatwick Diamond delegation to take the region to UKREiiF. We have so much to learn and more importantly to share. We are really excited to be showcasing the unique value we create as a region and the immense potential  of investing in the Diamond.”

Alison Addy, Head of External Engagement and Policy at London Gatwick, who were one of the first private sector organisations to announce their support, said: “As the region’s economic anchor, London Gatwick is proud to be a partner and advocate for a thriving and resilient local economy. It is important that we promote the region to drive inward investment and position it as an attractive place to live, work and invest.”

Keith Griffiths, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of UKREiiF, said: “We’re pleased to announce that the Gatwick Diamond region will be represented at UKREiiF 2024. Their commitment to economic growth and regional development perfectly aligns with the spirit of collaboration and innovation that defines our event.”
